Once again Macapello attended the Community Choir Convention in Bristol in the fabulous acoustic and ambience of St. Georges, Brandon Hill, on April 2nd.
The Community Choir Convention is a day-long annual gathering of choirs from all over the South-West, where we share songs, learn new ones en masse and then perform them in a Big Sing, mingle with the other choirs – and sing one or two of our own Macapello songs to everybody else! It’s great fun and richly rewarding.
This year we sang four songs – ‘Well I Woke Up This Morning With My Mind Set On Freedom’, followed by ‘Your Children’, ‘Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold’ and finishing with ‘Famba Naye’, a nice and varied mix of songs – and we got a great response and warm applause as we came off stage!
Here we are performing to the assembled choirs, looking good!
